Our Wonders of Africa Collection essential oils are sustainably-sourced from countries in Africa - a continent with incredibly rich biodiversity that Dr. Goodall has long cared so much about.

Through our partnership with International Flavors & Fragrances (IFF) we worked with local farmers where our sourcing practices can benefit their communities while also reducing the impact on our environment.

Citronella from Togo

You’ve probably heard of citronella candles for insect repellent. What you may not realize is that the refreshing scent of Citronella essential oil can also help promote feelings of happiness.*

Our Citronella oil is extracted from the leaves and stems of Cymbopogon (lemongrass) grown in Togo.

Scent: The name Citronella comes from the French word meaning “lemon balm,” and oh so balmy it is. Citronella smells similar to lemongrass but with a sweeter, more uplifting, citrus aroma.

Suggested Use: When you need a little pick-me-up, try adding a few drops of Citronella oil to your favorite diffuser to create an uplifting atmosphere.

Spice things up with ginger. Many people use ginger to help ease an upset stomach. As an essential oil it can also has many soothing properties.*

Our 100 percent pure and natural extract is obtained through the hydro-distillation of fresh ginger roots.

Scent: The name “ginger” is derived from the ancient Sanskrit word smgaveram, meaning “horn or antler-shaped root.” It's known for its powerful, long-lasting and exceptionally spicy aroma.

Suggested Use: Diffuse ginger essential oil while meditating for a relaxing experience.

Frankincense

One of the oldest perfume ingredients in the history of the world, frankincense was considered by ancient Egyptians to be a divine secretion—and to Roman and Greek civilizations, a symbol of power and abundance.

Our frankincense, also known as olibanum, comes from the resin of the Boswellia tree, native to Somalia.

Scent: Maybe one of the most well-known scents in winter, frankincense has a woody and slightly sweet aroma with notes of lemon.

Suggested Use: Add a few drops to your diffuser to create a soothing atmosphere at home.

Ylang Ylang from Madagascar

Floral, fruity and captivating, the scent of ylang ylang is one of Dr. Jane Goodall’s personal favorites.

Ylang ylang is a tree cherished by numerous cultures for its delicate, fragrant flowers and aphrodisiac properties. Our essential oil comes from the tree’s bright yellow, star-shaped flowers.

Scent: There’s a reason ylang ylang is on the ingredient list for many top-selling perfumes. It has a tropical, slightly floral and sweet aroma, perfect for finding comfort after a long day.

Suggested Use: Dilute with our carrier oil and add a few drops to your bath to help stress melt away.


Eco-friendly packaging

It’s not just what’s on the inside that counts. We use environmentally-friendly packaging to help reduce our impact on the environment. All packaging is 100% recyclable.

For our Wonders of Africa Essential Oil Kit we even use a tree-free, plantable wrapper that helps save bees. Here’s the buzz.

Instead of traditional paper, the wrapper is made from lemongrass fibers, glucose and poppy seeds which is good for the environment and bees. Just plant, grow and let Mother Nature do the rest.
