How do Forest Remedies Multi Omega Ahiflower Oil supplements compare to supplements made with flaxseed oil?

Most plant-sourced Omega fatty acids contain Omega 3 ALA (alpha-linolenic acid) and Omega 6 LA (Linoleic acid). Few contain Omega 6 GLA (Gamma-linolenic acid ) in meaningful quantities. Even fewer contain any Omega 3 SDA (stearidonic acid).

Our Multi Omega 3-6-9 with Ahiflower Oil supplements are unique because they contains ALL of these components.

By containing high amounts of SDA, Ahiflower is able to convert more efficiently to Omega 3 EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) in the body, compared to flax and other oils that primarily supply ALA. With Ahiflower  you get more and healthier Omegas than any other plant source.*

Which Omega fatty acids are in your Ahiflower supplements? Do they contain EPA and DHA?

Our new vegan Multi Omega 3-6-9 supplements offer a rich source of Omega 3 ALA (alpha-linolenic acid) and SDA (stearidonic acid); Omega 6 GLA (gamma linolenic acid) and LA (linoleic acid); and Omega 9 OA (oleic acid) - all from a single plant.

is unique in that it contains 18 - 20% SDA, the highest level of naturally-occurring SDA found in any commercially available dietary plant oil.

Your body converts SDA directly to EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid), the other main Omega 3 essential fatty acid. With ALA your body has to first convert it to SDA and then EPA. As a result, SDA from Ahiflower results in higher levels of EPA in the body than consuming ALA from flaxseed.*

Check our our blog: All about Omegas to get the low down on these healthy fats.

How do your Multi Omega supplements compare to marine Omega sources like fish, krill and algal oil?

Looks like someone knows their Omegas. Our Multi Omega 3-6-9 supplements deliver a premium vegan source of Omega 3, 6 and 9 fatty acids from Ahiflower Oil. It contains Omega 3 ALA (alpha-linolenic acid) and SDA (stearidonic acid); Omega 6 GLA (gamma linolenic acid) and LA (linoleic acid); and Omega 9 OA (oleic acid).

Here's how it differs from fish, krill, and algal oil.

Fish, krill, and algal oil (from marine algae) all contain Omega 3 EPA and/or DHA essential fatty acids. Ahiflower does not, but it contains Omega 6 GLA, which is known for its anti-inflammatory cellular benefits.* It also contains high levels of Omega 3 SDA which enables your body to more efficiently convert ALA to EPA and DHA than any other plant or seed oil.

With it being entirely plant-based, our Multi Omega supplements with Ahiflower are also free of any fishy smell or aftertaste like what you get with marine Omega sources. Think big on flavor, not fish burps.

Are your vegan Multi Omega supplements safe for people with allergies?

Our Multi Omega 3-6-9 with Ahiflower Oil supplements are manufactured in an allergen-free facility, and all formulas are free of the following: gluten, fish, shellfish, eggs, peanuts, soy, milk, nuts, celery, mustard, sesame seeds, sunflower seeds, poppy seed, flax seed, coriander, carrot, pepper, glutamate, capsicum, aniseed, dill, fennel, parsley and curry.

In addition to this, no allergic reactions have been reported in connection with Ahiflower Oil or with the plant source (Buglossoides arvensis). Protein levels are reduced to such a low level during the refining process that even if unknown allergens were present, it is extremely unlikely that they could provide a reaction.

How are your supplements manufactured? Are they third-party tested?

All of our vegan Multi Omega 3-6-9 supplements are made in an allergen-free and c-GMP compliant facility. Being c-GMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practice) compliant means this facility adheres to the industry’s strictest standards for manufacturing enforced by the FDA. It also ensures the strength, quality, and purity of our products.

In addition to this, all products are third-party lab tested for quality assurance so you can always trust what’s on the label is what’s inside the bottle. See for yourself by viewing the Certificates of Analysis on our website.

What's the difference between your Multi Omega Gummies and Multi Omega Soft Gels?

Get ready for a cleaner, greener way to Omega 3-6-9 with Ahiflower Oil. If you're looking for a premium, daily, plant-based source of Omegas to help fill the nutritional gaps in your diet, we've got options.

Both our Multi Omega 3-6-9 gummies and Multi Omega 3-6-9 soft gels deliver a premium vegan source of Omega 3, 6, and 9 fatty acids from Ahiflower Oil to support heart, brain, skin, and joint health.* We use 100% plant-based, non-GMO, allergen-friendly and gluten-free ingredients in both our gummies and soft gels.

Here's how they're different.

Our gummies are extra delicious and offer a fun and flavorful way to add more Omegas into your everyday routine. They are gelatin-free and made with an extra yummy orange blossom flavor. No synthetic colors, artificial flavor or artificial sweeteners.

The soft gels are different in that they are sugar-free, flavorless and easy-to-swallow. Because of the nature of soft gels, we're also able to include a higher amount of Ahiflower Oil in every soft gel, but both formats deliver a premium source of Omega 3, 6, and 9 fatty acids to support heart, brain, skin, and joint health.*

What is Ahiflower? Where does the oil come from?

Ahiflower is a small flowering plant native to the English countryside. The oil comes from the seeds of non-GMO, proprietary varieties of the plant that have been registered and protected under EU and US Plant Variety Protection legislation.

To create the high-quality oil in our supplements, the seeds are first crushed, and the raw, naturally Omega-rich oil is extracted. From there the oil is lightly refined and filtered to produce Ahiflower Oil.

Where is Ahiflower grown? Is it traceable?

Yes. All Ahiflower crops are grown exclusively in the United Kingdom by a network of independent farmers who have worked for many years to learn how to grow this crop reliably with minimal inputs and using regenerative farming practices.

These include:

  •  Maximizing and measuring soil microbial and pollinator biodiversity
  • Returning more organic fertility (eg from composted manures and silage) than is taken up by the crop
  • Leaving roots in place and minimizing tillage
  • Practicing multi-year crop rotations

Together these practices help improve the resilience, fertility, and health of the rural farmland ecosystems in which Ahiflower is grown. Because the crops are grown only in the UK by elite farmers whose ability to document their farming protocols on their fields is unmatched around the world, every year’s Ahiflower harvests are traceable back to the specially selected Ahiflower varieties, fields, and farms on which they were grown.

As a result, every batch of Ahiflower Oil is documented and traceable to its source farms and regions in the UK. The dominant omega-rich oils like flax, hemp, evening primrose, and borage are generally commodified oils produced all over the world and combined in such a way that traceability is lost.

Have any human clinical studies been done on Ahiflower Oil?

Yes. Two clinical trials have been conducted so far, and a third is underway. These studies verified that Ahiflower is up to four times more effective than flaxseed oil as a source of Omega-3.

What are the health benefits of Omega 3 and 6 fatty acids?

The health benefits of Omega 3 and 6 essential fatty acids are well documented and accepted worldwide. They are essential to help your body function and thrive and support your brain, heart, skin, and joint health.*

Since the body does not make these nutrients, and they are an essential part of cellular functioning, they have to come from the diet. Nutritional scientists and formulators regularly include Omega 3 and Omega 6 fatty acids in dietary supplements and functional foods/beverages as a way to improve recommended daily intakes of these essential fatty acids.

We always recommend eating a healthy and balanced diet. Taking supplements can help fill any nutritional gaps.*

How are your hemp CBD oils different from other brands?

We're so happy you asked. We know there are a lot of CBD products out there, and trying to decide on the best one for you can be confusing.

At Forest Remedies, you can always trust you're getting premium quality Full Spectrum hemp CBD oil made from plants cultivated without pesticides. Instead, we partner with top growers that use organic farming practices to minimize their impact on the environment and create a cleaner end product.

The end result is pure hemp CBD oil packed with naturally occurring phytocannabinoids to help enhance your everyday health and wellness.*

We also keep things tasteful. Our hemp CBD oils are made with pure MCT (coconut) oil and come in three great-tasting flavors - Natural, Vanilla, and Mint

I'm new to Hemp CBD. Which product should I start with?

Welcome! We're exciting you're thinking about adding hemp CBD to your wellness routine.

Here are some tips for selecting the best product for you.

Looking for a little extra calm and focus in your life?

Try an ingestible product (the ones you consume) like our hemp CBD oils or soft gels

With our hemp CBD oils you have the option of adding to food and drinks or taking alone. Each bottle includes a dropper making it easy to experiment with dosage and get crafty in the kitchen.

If convenience is key, try our hemp CBD soft gels. Each capsule delivers a uniform 30mg dose of CBD. So you can take them just like your vitamins.

Is rest and recovery more your thing?

Then try one of our Soothing Balms. These can help target a specific area to help ease muscle tension and occasional aches.*

What are the benefits of using Hemp CBD?

With our high-quality Full Spectrum Hemp CBD Oils you get not only CBD, but all the other natural, beneficial good stuff in hemp plants (phytocannabinoids) that can help support everyday wellness.* Here are some ways it can help.

  • Promote a sense of calm and focus*
  • Support wellbeing for body and mind*
  • Help with balance and getting a more restful sleep*

We should mention, not everyone has the same experience with CBD, and for some people it might not work at all. We always recommend consulting with your doctor before starting any new wellness routine. Your doctor can help determine the appropriate dose for your body and wellness needs.

What's the difference between your Hemp CBD Oils and Hemp CBD Soft Gels?

It's really all about personal preference.

When it comes to benefits, our high-quality hemp oils and soft gels both help support your everyday health and wellness and may promote a sense of calm and focus.* That aside, how you take them is different.

Here's how:

Our hemp oils are dispensed with a dropper and can be taken alone or added to food and beverages. We offer three different flavors, Natural, Vanilla, and Mint, each available in either 1000mg or 500mg strength. Since you're just pulling oil from a bottle, the dropper gives you a little more flexibility with the amount you're taking and how you're consuming it. For example, you can add it to your coffee, morning smoothie or take it alone.

With our hemp CBD soft gels, each capsule delivers 30mg of phytocannabinoids, so you get an easy and convenient uniform does of plant-based good stuff every time. Plus, they're essentially flavorless. If you want to take your hemp CBD that same way you take your vitamins, our soft gels are the way to go.

What are tips for having the best experience with my hemp CBD oil?

Ready to get started? Here are tips for making the most of your new wellness journey.

If you're new to hemp CBD, start small and keep a log of how you feel. Overtime you can increase your dosage until you reach your desired results.

Be consistent. Morning or night, we recommend using your new oil consistently as part of your everyday routine.

Take it alone or add to food and beverages like your next cup of coffee or morning smoothie. You can also get crafty in the kitchen. Check out our blog Cooking with Hemp for easy tips to help you get started.

Will I get high if I use Forest Remedies hemp CBD?

No. All Forest Remedies Hemp CBD products are compliant with the 2018 Farm Bill and contain less than 0.3% THC, the compound in cannabis plants responsible for its intoxicating psychoactive effects. Instead, our products help promote a sense of calm and focus for everyday wellbeing.*

What's the difference between CBD and hemp CBD?

Hemp CBD means that product contains plant extracts derived from hemp plants, a variety of the cannabis sativa plant bred to have less than 0.3% THC. As a result, these products can offer wellness benefits without intoxicating psychoactive effects. This is different from cannabis-derived CBD products that include both CBD and higher amounts THC.

What does Full Spectrum and Broad Spectrum mean for Forest Remedies products?

Full Spectrum means our products contain not only CBD but all the other natural, beneficial good stuff in hemp plants (phytocannabinoids, flavonoids, and terpenes) that help them help you. Don't worry though, there's barely any THC (less than 0.3%).

Our Broad Spectrum Hemp CBD Soothing Balms are different in that they only contain phytocannabinoids, without flavonoids and terpenes. Typically, products made with Broad Spectrum extract have less THC than products made with Full Spectrum extract.

Hand Sanitizers

How are your hand sanitizers different from other brands? Why do they smell so good?

Unlike most other hand sanitizers on the market today, we use a premium alcohol source - organic cane sugar ethanol grown in South America. Both our rosemary and geranium hand sanitizer sprays contain 65% alcohol.

This cane sugar alcohol goes through a three-stage filtration process which eliminates the tequila alcohol smell that you’ll find in the majority of hand sanitizers on the market today. This filtration process also ensures our hand sanitizer sprays meet the highest standards of purity and the strict United States Pharmacopeia (USP) standards adopted by the Food and Drug Administration.

Aside from our organic alcohol source, Forest Remedies Hand Sanitizer Sprays are vegan, plant-based and made with a natural essential oil blend to help you spray bad germs away with a scent you'll actually enjoy. Plus, with every purchase, we donate 5% of the sale price to the Jane Goodall Institute to support conservation efforts around the world.

Can I use your hand sanitizer spray on my cloth face mask covering?

Yes. Our plant-based hand sanitizer sprays have a fine mist that's perfect for refreshing any cloth face mask covering. Try a few spritz to give your mask an instant refresh. Choose from fresh rosemary and sweet geranium to help make wearing your mask a little more enjoyable and hopefully a little less stressful too.

How did you select the oils in the Jane Goodall Wonders of Africa kit?

This exclusive collection was inspired by Dr. Jane Goodall's love of Africa and passion for protecting wildlife. It includes Citronella, Ginger, Ylang Ylang and Frankincense. Each oil is sustainably-sourced from a country in Africa – a continent with incredibly rich biodiversity that Dr. Goodall has long cared so deeply about. We carefully-selected these scents to help promote balance, harmony and vibrance.*

How does my purchase help the Jane Goodall Institute?

With every purchase, 5% of the sale price is donated directly to the Jane Goodall Institute to support Dr. Goodall's continued research, conservation, and education efforts. These donations help restore critical habitat to save chimpanzees from extinction, improve health for women and education for girls, cultivate local livelihoods in harmony with nature, and shape the next generation of conservation leaders the world so urgently needs.

How does this packaging help the environment?

Wonders of Africa

For this exclusive collection, we use eco-friendly, 100% recyclable packaging. You can even plant the orange wrapper. It's made from tree-free, plantable Bee Saving Paper. This 100% biodegradable "paper" contains glucose, that acts like an energy drink for bees, along with lemongrass and poppy seeds. Just plant, grow, and help new life grow!

Visit our blog: How to plant Bee Saving Paper to learn more about how you can help save bees.

Plant-based Hand Sanitizer Sprays

Ok so our spray bottles aren't plastic-free, but we use 100% post-consumer resin (PCR) packaging to help reduce our impact on the environment. Post-consumer resin, is the more technical term for recycled plastic. PCR packaging is made from items that consumers recycle every day including plastic bottles. Instead of ending up in a landfill, these items get new life as a more environmentally-friendly packaging option.

Essential Oils

Can I ingest your essential oils?

No. We know there are some wild recipes out there that include essential oils. However, at Forest Remedies, our essential oils are not meant for consumption. Our essential oils are pure, natural, and highly-concentrated botanical extracts that can be used for aromatherapy. Do not ingest these oils.

Why do I have to dilute Forest Remedies essential oils before applying to my skin?

Our high-quality essential oils are 50 - 100 times more concentrated than they were in the plant and must be treated with care and caution. Undiluted essential oils can cause irritation when applied directly to skin without first diluting. We always recommend using a carrier oil, like ours, to dilute essential oils before applying topically.

How do you source Forest Remedies essential oils?

Our essential oils are sourced from top producers around the world. We're dedicated to transparency and responsible environmental management, and through our partnership with International Flavors and Fragrances (IFF), a global leader in sensory experiences, we’re able to responsibly-source ingredients directly from local farmers where practices have been implemented to ensure a fair share of profits go to workers and bring long-term economic opportunities to local villagers.
